Yamaha Bikes has manufactured more than one million bikes in a year which leaves Suzuki far behind. Till mid fifties, Yamaha didn’t launch any of their motorcycle. Torakusa Yamaha is the father of Yamaha and in the year 1887 he started manufacturing reed organs. Today it is known to be the second largest bike producer in the world which is way far for a fledging company that has just arrived in motorcycle industry. The first bike produced by Yamaha was YA1 that comes with single cylinder two-stroke 125cc engine and is a copy of German motorcycle. This bike is also known as Red Dragonfly which laid the foundation of company’s reputation for success and reliability on the race track.
The first motorcycle designed by Yamaha Bikes was launched in the year 1957. In those times, Yamaha was the only company to provide sports model which comes with five-speed gearbox and twin-cylinder engine. By the year 1960, the output of Yamaha was increased by 600% and the economy of United States was on rise as Yamaha sold around 12,000 motorcycles in States. The first manufacturing unit was created in Siam, Japan and till 1967, they built around 406,000 bikes. By 1973, they manufactured over more than million motorcycles in a year, while on the other hand Honda produced 1,836,000 bikes. One of the most reputed and popular bikes are Virago which comes with 750cc engine and it is the first bike to be launched in Japan. Their bikes are always known for reliability and quality with technology.

Yamaha YZF R6 is the latest production of Yamaha and there are some other motorcycles which have been launched in the market such as Yamaha VMax, R15 and R1. The R6 comes with power packed engine which is one of the best engine in motorcycle industry. It features a four-stroke four parallel forward inclined cylinders dual overhead camshaft sixteen valves engine with the displacement of 599cc and the compression ratio of 13:1. It generates 65.8 pound feet of torque at 11000 rpm and 127bhp at 14500 rpm.
The Yamaha YZF R6 comes with advanced transistor controlled ignition and six-speed gear transmission which provides enhanced speed and performance. The engine of R6 is incorporated by Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle with dual intake system for providing silky response with Electronic Control Unit and multiple sensors. Overall the R6 is a sporty bike that had the capability of providing enormous torque and power.
Yamaha YZF R1 comes with liquid cooled inline four-cylinder engine with the displacement of 998cc. It comes with 16-valve cylinder head and dual stage fuel injection system. This engine generates 76.55 pound feet of torque at 10300 rpm and gives you decent performance when it comes to 5000 rpm. The maximum horsepower is 150.89 hp at 11500 rpm.
The front brakes in Yamaha YZF R1 come with a pair of six-piston Sumitomo brake calipers, while the rear brakes feature 220mm disc with twin-piston caliper. It comes with white black-lit instrument that displays speedometer and tachometer which is very easy to read. Overall it is a fantastic street bike which is available for the price of $13,290.
